Ipsy

This box was fun and featured two of my favorite beauty youtubers, Katy and Desi, I love when I see these beauty vloggers collaborating with companies. So inspiring! I would say I was not a fan of the makeup brush in this month's bag. But no shade, I can't hate on them because just a couple of months ago they sent me a new favorite brushe from Luxie Beauty

I did love the Biorepublic sheet masks, they are great for making your skin feel soft and plump! I use them the night before I want a really good makeup day. The Urban Decay duo chrome shadow I was definitely a fan of, I mean its small but so cute. Urban Decay has some really great products, not to mention my very favorite concealer! I will have to be honest and let you know I never get around to trying the nail polishes because I always get my nails "did".

Birchbox

Yep. I loved this box and everything in it. Let me start by raving about this smaller brand evologie, I have been using this blemish serum for a few weeks and this stuff is amazing. I love a skin product that really shows improvement like this little sucker. Not only does it help your blemish disappear, if you tend to get hyper pigmentation like lucky old ME... it helps with evening out that skin tone too!

The modster eye liner is creamy and highly pigmented, works great for smudging and creating a fun smokey eye. Oribe, does it even need an introduction? While their products are a tad pricey, they are bomb! I love using this texture spray to help on days I'm going for the loose waves and effortless looking hair, HA effortless. I WISH!

Now to the last two products that I loved from this box, Laura Geller Gilded Honey highlight and the new Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow gel. The highlight will give you the perfect glow, they have four shades available and all of them are gorge, I mean don't you love options? Gimme Brow gel is great for adding some extra volume to your brows. I fill by brows with ABH brow powder and have been using this gel to thicken and set my brows. Benefit cosmetics, can you get any cuter with your packaging?! I love all there stuff, I just want to buy it and display it all over my room!

Set it and Forget it

Baking has become popular among makeup lovers. It's a great way to lock your makeup into place. I tend to lightly set my face with a loose powder to help my makeup stay put and last longer. Living in Houston with this crazy humidity makes setting your concealer and foundation crucial. You do not want your concealer to move around or your contour to look blotchy.

These are my top two favorite loose powders!! Cote Airspun powder is inexpensive, and you can find it at your local drugstore. It's been around long before I was. I honestly love this loose powder but the only downside is it has a pretty strong perfume scent. My holy grail loose powder, hands down, is Laura Mercier's translucent setting powder! It is so finely milled and doesn't settle in your creases. It's my absolute favorite for setting my under eyes!

February Favorites

It has been a minute. Life has been hectic, but all in a good way. It is wedding season and I have been a busy bee, speaking of bees, HELLO SPRING! I love the sun and I even embrace the Texas heat, don't get me wrong, I do complain when it gets too hot. But look at the bright side, the humid air keeps you looking young by keeping your skin hydrated.

I want to start with some skin food. Origins is a really wonderful brand and my mom introduced me to their products, she always talked about the importance of taking care of your skin and of course I ignored it all they way through my early 20's. So if I can give any of you young girls some advice, start taking care of your skin now and you will not be sorry! This eye cream is great for the mornings and really helps brighten the under eye area. I am a bad sleeper and stay up late so this eye cream is a dream for me as it helps my tired eyes and dark circles. It is formulated with coffee beans and ginseng, green tea... speaks for itself! Check it out at Origins!

Lippies. Lippies. Lippies. Oh, how I love all kinds of lipsticks, lip glosses, liquid lipsticks, lip stains, and lip balms.  Lorac cosmetics alter ego lipstick in "Dainty" is the perfect pink for spring. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and so creamy, with a matte finish. I have to say, matte lipsticks have been my go to lippy and what I have been wearing the most lately. I love a good pink lip with almost any look, it makes you feel so girly and flirty. Anastasia Beverly Hills lip glosses smell like cupcakes and look so pretty on their own or paired with a lipstick. "Girl Next Door" is a pale pink lip gloss that makes your lips look fabulous in the spring with a smokey eye or even a simple day look. These two pair for the perfect spring look.

Keeping with the theme of lips, this Bite Beauty Line and Define Lip Primer is the bomb. Your lips will not only be lined and help from color bleeding, they will last twice as long! Prepping your lips before applying lipstick is so so important, especially with the matte lip trend. Matte lipsticks are fabulous but they do tend to dry out your lips and this primer when applied before helps serve as a barrier. Also, remember to do a lip scrub and moisturize your lips before you start your makeup and by the time your ready to apply your lip product, it is going to apply a lot smoother! You'll have the perfect pout!!

Spring and Summer bring out that glory skin and fresh face look. Jennifer Lopez always has beautiful glowing skin and overtime I see her I find myself layering on different highlights! Glowing skin always gives your skin that healthy, beautiful look. Becca Skin Perfector is a great product to apply under your foundation to give your skin a natural, healthy glow. You can also dap them on to your cheeks with a beauty blender. Rule of thumb is when applying liquid products, you ALWAYS want to apply them before any powder products. I love layering this product with a powder highlight over top for that extra glam look. You can buy them individually, in a larger size, I bought this smaller set of 3 for my makeup kit.

Shout out to Tati on this shadow stick collab with Birchbox.  Tati, also known as glam life guru created several shadow sticks and lipsticks with birch box and they are really great! This eye shadow stick is so highly pigmented and super creamy. I love using this as an inner corner highlight, or all over the lid on a day your don't want to fuss with shadows. It stays put and honestly guys I am usually not a fan of shadow sticks but this one rocks!!

Last but definitely not least is this Vegas Nay Star Dust Palette collab with Too Faced! This has been a go to palette for me ever since I purchased it. It has so many beautiful and highly pigmented colors. You can get some great day time and night time looks from this palette, I love its versatility and would definitely say it is great for traveling. The shadows are highly pigmented and very bendable. If you visit my instagram you can check out several looks I have created with this palette.

I decided to throw in some jewelry this month because I love this line so much. Some of my very favorite earrings come from Kendra Scott and these are her white pearl Danielle Gold earrings, they are stunning and make such a statement. You will die when you visit her website and see how many colors are available in these statement earrings. When I am running out the door, I know I can't go wrong with these. It's an instant style statement and makes you feel put together. If you don't have a pair of her earrings, go get some!

Love it or Hate it: ColourPop Cosmetics

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

I can not believe we are already in 2016! I have to say, I truly enjoyed the holidays with family and relaxing at home. Vegging out on the couch watching hallmark movies! 2016, I am ready for you, so excited for a new year with many new goals and projects on the way. Sadly, I have already failed my clean eating goal, with pizza last night, I will get back on that... Baby steps.

SO you guys, have you hear of ColourPop Cosmetics before?  I have and used to be I really bad about not ordering things online, I love just hitting up my favorite stores like Sephora and Ulta. I like seeing products in person and swatching them. Well I bit the bullet a couple of months ago and have been ordering lots of new goodies online and will have a ton of new "Love it or Hate it" blogs coming your way!!

ColourPop is a total LOVE IT!

Their lipstick lipstick's price already blew me away for only $6 a lipstick, THAT'S CRAZY. And as soon as I wore the first one in the set of 5 I purchased, I fell in love. The formula is solid. It comes on so highly pigmented and applies so smoothly. The worst is when a lipstick or shadow is patchy. Now remember these lipsticks do dry to matte formula, which is totally the look right now, but I do have to say that you really need to moisturize your lips!Wearing these bad boys will dry your pretty lips out.

I did buy two highlights in "lunch money" and "whisp" they too are just as awesome as the liquid lipstick. The formula is a mouse like texture and you can apply it with a brush or best with a beauty blender. I have not tried their eye shadows yet but that will be my next purchase through their website at ColourPop Cosmetics.

You can't beat the prices this brand offers on these makeup products, so go check them out and buy a few things. I promise you will become an instant fan!
